I am a thoughtful and practical psychologist located in Montclair, NJ who uses my expertise, humor and humanity to connect with people and help them work through their difficulties. I help people gain deeper understanding, heal emotionally & psychologically, engage in practical problem solving, and make important changes in the ways they think, feel, and behave.
I work with adults on a range of individual, relationship, family and work issues. Many clients are high functioning and successful in various areas of life, but are struggling with issues they have kept to themselves for too long. I help my clients understand and address the problems causing them difficulty and detracting from their well-being. Issues that I commonly work with include: anxiety, depression, stress, family & relationship issues, career & work issues, anger, panic, and issues relating to self-esteem & self-concept. A particular area of specialization is working with people on career issues and the ways in which career and work can impact people's sense of identity, self concept and self worth.
I also do a lot of psychotherapy work with adolescents and pre-adolescents, with a particular specialization working with males in this age range. I help adolescent and pre-adolescent clients better understand themselves and how they want to change, recognize and achieve their goals, and navigate their world in increasingly effective ways. Issues that I commonly work with include: anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skill deficits, academic challenges, and anger.
I have an integrationist approach to my work, in which I bring together the theoretical and technical elements of various therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral (CBT), and family systems. By bringing together these various approaches in a coherent manner, I give clients a full array of tools to understand themselves and make the change they desire.
Located in Montclair, NJ, I work with clients throughout the north Jersey area.
